Lumina Partners With Multiple Sclerosis Association of America to Expand Access to Imaging Services

Lumina 2

Lumina Imaging and Diagnostics is proud to partner with the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America to help individuals who are uninsured or underinsured pay for important imaging scans that can be used in the diagnosis and treatment of MS – one of the most disabling neurological conditions.

MSAA’s MRI Access Program has helped qualifying individuals pay for cranial (brain) and c-spine scans for more than 30 years. MSAA designates preferred providers in various markets throughout the country and directs patients toward those organizations for imaging services. MSAA selected Lumina because of its accessibility, technical expertise, and its ability to provide hospital-quality imaging services at a controlled cost.

“At Lumina, we are committed to making imaging more human, and that means providing the best possible experience for our patients,” said Bryan Crowley, Director of Business Operations. “An MS diagnosis can be a frightening experience, and it’s crucial that we provide compassionate care at every step of the way – and that’s exactly what you can expect from Lumina’s technologists and other caregivers.”

In the United States alone, about 1 million people suffer from MS. And while there is no cure, medicines and other treatments can help control the condition and ease some of the symptoms.

The MetroHealth System launched Lumina in 2019 to answer this simple question: Why are MRI and CT scans so expensive and difficult to schedule? Lumina offers hospital-quality imaging services with an exceptional patient experience at a cost 60-80% lower than hospital facilities. And with the recent opening of its Westlake site, most Northeast Ohio residents are now within a 20-minute drive of these innovative imaging centers. Lumina also has locations in Solon, Medina and Mentor.
