Tri-C Creative Arts Academy Students
Honor Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Sept. 29-30 performances presented by the College and The MetroHealth System
CLEVELAND — Celebrate the life and legacy of of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at MLK: The Dream Endures, a powerful performance of dance, music and spoken word presented by Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) and The MetroHealth System.
The show will be staged twice by Tri-C Creative Arts Academy students, with performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Metropolitan Campus Mainstage Theatre.
This vibrant program honors King and his commitment to social and economic justice. It celebrates his life, stories, lessons and enduring dream of humanity while blending history with the realities of today and the hope for tomorrow.
The program is part of a yearlong series of events by Tri-C and MetroHealth marking the 50th anniversary of King’s death.
“The students are truly honored to be able to perform for their community in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. King,” said Emanuela Friscioni, director of the Creative Arts Academy. “The performance is powerful, moving and will leave the audience feeling inspired.”
MLK: The Dream Endures is co-directed by Dominick Farinacci, director of Tri-C’s JazzFest Academy, and Terence Greene, director of Tri-C’s Dance Academy. Local artists Orlando Watson and Shenel Johns will accompany the students during the performances.

The Mainstage Theatre is located within the College’s Gill and Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts, located at 2809 Woodland Ave. in Cleveland. Free parking is available on campus.
