We’re proud to be recognized as a leader in LGBTQ care by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation

3-27-2018 HRC Equality Index 2018

At MetroHealth, taking care of everyone means just that: taking care of every person who needs us, no matter who they are. That includes a commitment to our area’s LGBTQ community.

That’s why we’re so proud to be named an “LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader” for 2018 by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

MetroHealth was one of more than 600 health systems across the country that participated in an HRC-led survey to grade the effectiveness of their inclusion policies and practices. The survey checked four areas of focus: LGBTQ patient-centered care, services and support, employee benefits and policies and LGBTQ patient and community engagement.

When the results were announced, MetroHealth received a perfect score of 100. The survey highlighted our PRIDE Clinic – the first LGBTQ-specific clinic in the area – our pronoun project and our ongoing efforts to training our staff on caring for LGBTQ patients.

A commitment to inclusion and diversity is one of our key values, and we’re proud to be recognized as a national leader on that front.
